Don't ask me to explain it - because I can't. It might have something to do with genetics, allergies, or clowns. It might also have something to do with a secret government plot

Superman had his kryptonite.

Greg Stier has his fleece.

I'm not kidding! There's something about that oh so soft and oh so comfortable material that flat out gives me the heebie jeebies.

Oh--and it also makes my teeth hurt.

Sometimes I wish I could get along with fleece, because it seems everyone is wearing it, but then I realize it will never work. Fleece and I will always remain mortal enemies. In fact, if I could eradicate that fuzzy stuff from the universe, I would do it in a second. Then no one would be able to taunt me with vests and make my teeth hurt with fleece references.

But alas, I fear that it is here to stay. It has woven itself into the fabric of our fabrics, and it seems that until I leave this earth, I will be engaged in fleece warfare.

I wonder, what's the fleece in your life? I'm not talking about fabric here, what I mean is...what gives you the heebie jeebies and makes you hurt? Is there something that makes revulsion and resistance rise up in you like a tidal wave? Perhaps you are thinking that there is a different answer for everyone, and perhaps you are right. But you need to know that there is something that should cause a major reaction in all Christians. In fact, you should hate this more than ANY other thing in the universe.

No, I'm not talking about clowns. Although that might come in a close second, we need to heed the words of Paul:

Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9)

Should Christians hate? Absolutely! We must hate sin with the intensity of 1000 white hot suns! Why? Oh, gee-let me count the ways. Sin sent Jesus to His death. Sin separates people from God and reserves their place in hell. Sin is the cause behind all tragedy, death, and destruction.

I have a question for you. Do you hate sin? Or do you play around with it like a little pet you think you can control? Consider yourself warned: that little pet will soon turn around and shred you faster than a mountain lion on a bunny rabbit. Sin should give you the spiritual heebie jeebies and make your soul hurt. You need to realize that you are locked in mortal combat with sin until the day you leave this earth.

You know what helps me in this area? When I am faced with the temptation to wink at or be tolerant of sin, I remember the face of my Savior on the Cross. It was those winks and that tolerance that drove the cruel spikes through His hands and feet.

I hate fleece, but I hate sin a whole lot more. Do me a favor-don't send me any fleece presents, but most importantly, do God a favor. Hate sin like a stalker who's out to kill you - because it is!

hi, im eddie from fresno california. you know, it's funny the way you mentioned that superman has his kryptonite. i consider myself like superman. you know ofcourse that superman supernatural powers that make him fly, see thew walls, destroy stuff with his lazor vission and can lift super heavy stuff.why? the natural law of gravity is that everything that goes up ,must come down. he can break that law!. our natural law is to sin. its in us. but when we come to Jesus Christ, we can break that law becouse HE gives us supernatural strength. no matter what trial, what tribulation, what temptation or what storm, God gives us the SUPER natural strength that can get us threw it... i hope im making cense. God bless.

Fleece makes my teeth hurt, too! I'm glad I am not the only one.
