Committed to the Ultimate Cause
1/21/2008
Have you ever truly sat down and thought about what your committed to. Well, a few months back while reading II Chronicles 16 I stumbled across verse 9 which says "The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to show Himself strong to those who are committed to Him" That truly made me evaluate my life. See, in that verse it shows us something. it shows us exactly what God wants. It's amazing to me that throughout the Bible we can see the heart of God. So after saying all that I got some questions for you.
- What is the ultimate cause?
The ultimate cause is Jesus. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME." John 14:6 I mean how much clearer can Jesus be here to put it simply He is our everything. What's even cooler about my God is that He loves us. - Why should we be committed to the Ultimate Cause?
OK, lets take Paul for example. He shares in II Corinthians 12: 7-10 that he has a thorn in his flesh he describes it as a messenger from Satan, he also shares that he has plead with God 3 times to take it away and here comes the great part. My God tells Paul this " My Grace is sufficient for you, My Power is made perfect in weakness." You want to know why to be committed? Just read that God is enough!!! Wow Ok, another reason. Let's take Peter. Peter is sometimes shadowed by Paul's ministry but in Matthew 16:16 Peter jumps out of the shadows to proclaim who Jesus is showing us truly the commitment of Peter. In this scripture Jesus has asked his disciples who men saw that He is so they tell him many different answers but then our Lord asks the question that truly defined that very moment in history He asked "but who do YOU say that I am?" Peter jumps out and says " You are the Messiah, The Son of THE LIVING GOD." If you were to ask that question again to people today what would some of the answers be? great teacher, prophet, nice guy in history, and so many more but the sad statistic is that only about 35% would get it right. God is calling this nation to be committed to Him regardless of affliction, affiliation, religion, or any other excuse. - Are you committed to The Ultimate Cause?
Most kids and adults too would answer this question with yes while sitting at church or at a camp simply because there friends are around and there afraid to be embarrassed and intimidated. Well guys & girls this is the time whether your over at a friends house checking your facebook or reading this alone at your house reading this the invitation is open. If you’re saved and living a life that doesn't show it God has issued a call for you to come back to Him. If your not saved, there's a neat bit of information you ought to know. The great big God who created everything you see does not need you!! But He wants and desires you and Loves you more than anyone on this earth ever could. John 3:16 sums it up " For God so loved the world that He gave his only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." See God loves You and wants you. Just cry out to Him (like it says in Psalm 84:2) and ask for forgiveness of sins.
Finally,
