Encouraging Your Youth to Write New Worship Music
4/24/2008
What a great thing to worship God together - singing, playing, praying - but what about writing? "Sing a new song to the Lord," the Scripture says. Have you ever wondered what would happen if your youth group received a boost in the direction of writing their own worship music?
Stop and think about it a minute. The biggest challenge is not finding the singers or exploring words. Youth already do that. The challenge is finding the right chords. What if there was an easy way to experiment with chords, even if you've never played an instrument before?
If you have a Windows-based PC, you're almost there. What you may be missing is an inexpensive program called "Chordmaps.com Yours To Play It!" The program allows you to play basic chord progressions (in all of the major keys) just by pointing and clicking with a mouse. Have you ever wanted to write a worship song, but you couldn't find the chords?
Here's the link if you would like to take a look.
