Kind Words

You'll need 10 sheets of paper for every five kids, a tape measure, and a watch with a second hand. Form teams of five and give each team 10 sheets of paper. Say: Each team has the same amount of paper and must build the tallest tower possible in three minutes The tower must be able to stand on its own for 30 seconds. After three minutes, have everyone step back and wait 30 seconds before measuring to find the tallest tower. Ask: What difficulties did you run into while trying to build your tower? What would've made it easier? How was building the tower like or unlike building a relationship with someone? Have someone read Proverbs 15:12. Ask: How important are kind words in a relationship? How can we "use knowledge" when we speak? Close in prayer, asking God for wisdom to use words that build relationships rather than words that tear them down.
