Most of the time we pour so

Most of the time we pour so much of ourselves into what we do that we forget to refill with the fuel that gets us going - God...We are never created to operate outside of who He is...Staying connected will see us achieving much more then what we could being disconnected...On a side note operating disconnected from God gives great oppertunity for a show in the flesh!

Being a lone ranger NEVER

Being a lone ranger NEVER amounts to anything. Most of the time a friend you can be accountable to will notice the alarm bells ringing before you do if there are areas in your spiritual life that are hitting the ground hard. I always feel refreshed and revived after having a conversation with someone who loves me enough to tell me that I need to pull my socks up and encourage me to conitnue...

Working with any one group

Working with any one group for a long period of time can be draining. We wxpend so much energy that on that ministry that we have little left for ourselves. I have been in youth ministry for over 25 years and I have had to back off from time to time and make time for me and my relationship with God. Youth ministry takes a lot of energy, a lot of time and it is all worth it but we have to stay connected and take care of ourselves too. I almost quit because I found that trivial issues were dragging me down. These weren't trivial to the youth, but they had become that for me. Two years later I returned fresh and ready for the fun of youth ministry again.
